MY THOUGHTS ON

UPPAbaby CRUZ 2015 STROLLER

My little tribe and I have been in receipt of the UPPAbaby Cruz for just over two months now and am pleased to say it has served us well!

The stroller is extremely sturdy thanks to its robust chassis and despite it looking so, it isn’t heavy to push and manoeuvre at all!

The wheels effortlessly glide over many different terrains including woodland trails, gravel and pebbled pavements.

FAVOURITE FEATURES

My favourite features about the UPPAbaby Cruz is the option of having your little bundle rear or forward facing, the additional piggy back board when little Eco’s legs get tired from walking, the saviour that is the snack tray and the super spacious shopping basket.

REAR AND FORWARD FACING

Sometimes the world as they see it can be a very scary and overwhelming experience for little children under 2 so having the option to have ones little rear or world facing is one of the key features I always look for when considering using a stroller.

When Fleur was under a year she preferred to see my face but as she is now 17 months she likes to see more of the world. If Fleur is on me in her carrier Eco would sometimes opt to sit in the stroller too.

He is currently 16kg and slightly above the recommended 15kg limit here in the UK but have no problems in him getting in for short strolls to the shops.

CRUZ 2015 PIGGYBACK BOARD

UPPAbaby‘s **Cruz Piggyback Board is a fantastic addition to your UPPAbaby stroller if you have two or more children.

Despite a toddler or preschoolers growing independence to walk everywhere their little legs do eventually get tired.

To save a potential meltdown occurring when in arms carrying older children is not an option the Cruz Piggyback Board works as an excellent alternative.

Designed for children up to 22kg, this makes for a brilliant investment to get you from A to B safely and quickly when littles no longer want to walk.

UPPAbaby SNACK TRAY

I don’t know about you fellow parents and caregivers out there but both my children seem to ALWAYS get hungry the second we set out using a stroller.

This is where the **Uppababy Snack Tray (item sold separately) has been a lifesaver for me, so much so that ever since being in receipt of our UPPAbaby Cruz the leather bar it comes with has never been used… we swapped it out for the snack tray and have never looked back!!

EXTRA LARGE SHOPPING BASKET

Another key feature I always look out for when considering purchasing a stroller having a large shopping basket and let me tell you the UPPAbaby Cruz does not disappoint!

I have miraculously managed to fit a week’s worth of shopping, my baby change bag, Eco’s scooter AND football into the shopping basket area with total ease (captured but lost phone in June without backing up photos) .

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT

Whilst my overall thoughts of the UPPAbaby Cruz is indeed a very positive one, there were however a few areas for improvement that could make this stroller score extra brownie points.

These include the standard sized canopy I secretly wish was a little bigger, more handle bar height options when using the Piggyback Board and the overall size of the stroller.

The stroller takes up a lot of room in the boot of a vehicle so if you happen to have a boot that is on the smallish size you might struggle to fit anything else in it should you wish to drive with the stroller in tow.

I wish this stroller was more compact and have the ability to fold up small thus also saving valuable space in small apartments and flats like ours.

When using the Cruz Piggyback Board with my super tall 3.9 year old, I find the highest handle bar setting still does not give Eco enough room to comfortably ride on it.

He forever complains of discomfort as there is hardly any room to move between the canopy and handle bar so think an additional height option added when in use with the Piggyback Board would make tall children riding on it more happier and comfortable.

PRICE AND FINAL THOUGHTS

The UPPAbaby Cruz is available to purchase from various retail outlets including John Lewis for £599.99.

Despite the small areas for improvement mentioned above I honestly feel the UPPAbaby stroller is a fantastic stroller to own.

Knowing that it will last right from birth to 15 kg (preschool age) along with the chassis being compatible with the various car seats such as Maxi Cosi, Cybex and Nuna to name a few on by simply using adaptors included, one does not have to worry about making another purchase within a year which in my humble opinion makes this stroller a great investment.

I hope that by reading my honest review of the UPPAbaby Cruz stroller, it has given you an insight into the features it comes with and will hopefully act as an make that decision a little easier on which pram, pushchair, stroller or travel system to invest in for your little one.

Disclaimer: I was sent this stroller, the accessories mentioned and matching cosy footmuff in exchange for an honest review. All photography, thoughts and opinions expressed throughout this article are entirely my own.
