Baby proofing Our Home With Safety 1st Flat Step Metal Baby Gates

Would you believe it has taken me close to 2 years and 6 months in getting around to installing safety baby gates in our apartment? That isn’t because I have been lazy in purchasing them. It was purely because the vast amount that I had seen did not live up to my expectations of properly protecting my ever curious little boy. Most baby gates I have come across since becoming a Mother have a clickable button to press down but inquisitive toddlers like mine will watch an adult operate these gates and then figure out how to get through and that scenario my friends lies the problem!!

In my household, the kitchen and Daddy’s home office is a completely out of bounds for little people as sharp objects, choking hazards and heavy machinery live in those rooms. This means little Eco unfortunately hasn’t had the luxury of roaming around our home as freely as he should be able to.

That of course changed when I learned about Safety 1st and their awesome flat step metal baby gate thanks to the lovely pr team who kindly gifted me two gates.

My Thoughts On Safety 1st’s Flat Step Metal Baby Gates

By eliminating the use of using a drill or screws which is a major plus for us as we live in a private rented apartment,  one simply operates the gate with one hand by pushing back the leaver until one seea the colour red then tilting the leaver up at an angle thanks to an integrated 4 point pressure fitting.

Admittedly is a tricky manoeuvre for adults to complete yet alone toddlers and preschoolers who are constantly developing their fine motor skills. For that reason, Safety 1st flat step metal baby gate fills me with great confidence knowing our little Eco now has the freedom to independently move around our 2 bedroom apartment without ever comprising his safety.

Eco will also benefit from Daddy and I no longer being hot on his heels saying enticing words to a 2.5 year old like ‘nooo’ and ‘don’t touch’.

These baby gates have honestly been a total godsend to us as our Son is no longer restricted to his playroom and highly recommend them to fellow parents and caregivers of little people.
