Become an expert in your field

By reading up and becoming an expert, you can get deeper into your passion and become someone that others look to for guidance.

It could also take you to levels beyond this such as getting a qualification or making money from your passion (which are discussed below).

Some people do it as a means of turning their passion into a career while others do it as a personal challenge.

An example of a passion could include playing violin – you could try completing grades in your instrument or you could even pursue a college degree in music.

Make money from it

Making money from a passion allows you to earn money doing something you enjoy. When making money from a passion, It helps to be an expert in your field and have qualifications, but it isn’t essential.

For example, if you have a passion for jewellery making – there’s nothing to stop you making and selling your own jewellery without qualifications or an extensive knowledge.

Making money from a passion will require some sacrifices in order to maintain a level of professionalism.

It’s important that these sacrifices don’t cause you to fall out of love with your passion (in the case of jewellery crafting, you may have to work to deadlines and may have to stick to set designs).

Join Communities

Surrounding yourself with other like-minded individuals can allow you to share knowledge about your passion and potentially turn it into a more social hobby if it’s something you currently do solo.

For instance, if you currently enjoy running, you could try joining a running club or you could simply participate in running forums and social media pages such as these ones. It could be a great opportunity to make new friends and connections.

Get Competitive

Getting competitive could be another way of taking your passion to the next level.

Whether you collect stamps, bake cakes or enjoy writing poetry, there will always be an opportunity to get competitive whether it be a local contest or a chance to set a world record.

Competitions can be a chance to establish yourself as the best and can be a great way of challenging yourself.
