Family Friendly Hotels: Stoke Park Country Club and Hotel

With the new year well and truly underway, some families will be using the upcoming half term breaks and the summer holidays to book a family holiday or short getaway. Finding a family friendly hotel however can be a bit of a chore so using my own experiences I am kicking off this new series with a hotel close to my heart Stoke Park Country Club and Hotel….

The Pavilion

Stoke Park Country Club has two hotels within its grounds, the mansion and The Pavilion. Having had the pleasure of experiencing a complimentary stay at both hotels The Pavilion is definitely the most family friendly hotel with direct access to the spa and gym facilities, San Marco Restaurant, The Games Room and Creche.

Every member of staff from the receptionist, to the porters are ever so welcoming and friendly and are always ready to help assist you, no matter how small your query maybe.

Pavilion Rooms

The Pavilion rooms are very modern with each one having its own character. There is no need to bring a travel cot bed with you when you stay at Stoke Park Hotel for they have your needs covered and supply these upon request. Themed bedding and bed rails can also be requested.

Another added touch to make even the youngest of guests feel welcome was the surprise rubber ducks and child friendly toiletries that was placed in the bathroom prior to check in.

As well as having access to multiple digital channels (in our case CBeebies) and numerous age appropriate disney dvds to watch in the comfort of ones room or suite there are many things your littles can enjoy when staying at Skoke Park Country Club Hotel.

Things To Do

The Games Room

The Stoke Park Games room has plenty of things to keep you child(ren) occupied. From games consoles to puzzles, board games and table football, they’ll be sure to be entertained for hours on end leaving you to free to enjoy time in the spa facilities or catch up on some sleep.

Crèche

Should your child(ren) be too young to enjoy the Games Room, Stoke Park have a dedicated crèche on site near the outdoor playground and are open from 9am until 12:30pm every day.

Outdoor Play Area

Let your littles burn off some energy in their lovely outdoor play area complete with swings, slides, a climbing frame and even a super cool wooden house!

Little Eco LOVED exploring the outdoor area so much so that he did not want to leave!

Splash Time

Special splash times are set aside for under 16’s so they can fully enjoy swimming and splashing about in the lovely indoor pool without the worry of getting in the way of other gym / hotel members.

Little Stars Afternoon Tea

Your littles are bound to have worked up a serious appetite after enjoying the activities that Stoke Park offer for children.

So if afternoon tea is more your thing, they can join in with the experience and have their own Little Stars Afternoon Tea.

This was one of our highlights during our most recent stay and as you can see, my Son Little Eco gladly tucked into his cheese sandwiches, cucumber and the miniature cakes.

San Marco Restaurant

The San Marco Restaurant is extremely family friendly. With a dedicated children’s menu and highchairs available on request, fresh juices and smoothies to drink the whole family can dine together inside the Italian Restaurant or opt Alfresco.

The Master Suite – Room 140

We were extremely fortunate to have stayed in The Master suite of The Pavilion during our most recent overnight stay which overlooks the indoor swimming pool, the outdoor hot tub and gorgeous gardens.

As I was 37 weeks pregnant with baby Fleur at the time, we opted to have dinner in the comfort of our suite and the same went for breakfast the following morning.

Little Eco enjoyed his breakfast items of fresh sliced fruit and mini waffles topped with blueberries and maple syrup while watching his favourite cartoons on TV.

Our Thoughts On Our Stay At The Pavilion

Throughout our stay we were made to feel very welcome as a family with a small child in tow.

I loved all of the added little touches that made our overnight stay an exceptional experience.

Examples include the personalised cookie left upon our return from playing in the gardens, the bath toys kindly provided and the football sourced so little Eco could play football with Daddy.

He had such a fabulous time and cannot wait to return to our FAVOURITE hotel this summer, this time with baby Fleur too!

I could not conclude this article without saying a special Thank You to Nick Downie and team for everything.

Stoke Park Country Club and Hotel has been listed among the top friendly hotels and after our own experience, both pre pregnancy at The Mansion and again with as a family at The Pavilion we can see why!
