5 Reasons You Should Hire A Moving Company

Today I am sharing with you 5 Reasons You Should Hire A Moving Company in a bid to make life that little bit easier, stress and worry free with the help of a few friends who have had positive experiences in doing so. We all know just how stressful moving home can be. From downsizing, de-cluttering all unwanted and hoarded items, physically moving furniture and everyday household essentials, to packing up treasured antiques, fine china, mirrors ect. It can seem very overwhelming but it does not have to be as I explore the benefits of hiring a moving company….

1. It Takes The Stress Away and Reduces Anxiety

Starting with the most obvious reason one should hire a moving company when moving home is the reduction in ones stress and anxiety levels. Almost everyone I had the pleasure of speaking to for this article all mentioned they would happily pay a professional to take the stress and hassle of moving themselves.

Lisa over at That British Betty says “I went to work when we recently moved and left the moving company to deal with it! After moving myself several times, the stress of parking (I’m a nervous driver anyhow), physically lifting furniture and such was just not worth it. I would happily pay ten times over for someone else to take on the hassle as I was so busy sorting bills, changing address etc that it really did make a big difference”.

Rachael over at From Rachael Claire shares her experience of moving from a one bed apartment into a house, and just how stressful it was. “There was only two of us then as well. Now we have a whole house worth of stuff, two cats & a baby. If/when we move I will definitely be hiring a moving company – it’ll be worth every penny!”

2. Your Time and Energy Can Be Expended Elsewhere

Christy over at Welsh Mum correctly identifies that you need to conserve your time and energy to do other things like look after your family, unpack and decorate. A moving company will take a massive amount of work off your hands, leaving your body and mind ready for the big task of making your new house into a home.

She says “I would always use one in the future because it really makes a big difference to how I feel about a move and my stress levels are much lower to know it’s being handled professionally”.

3. Household Possessions In Transit Are Covered By Insurance

Something I admittedly did not consider myself was that all household possessions in transit will be covered by the moving companies insurance should anything get broken or damaged. For me, this makes hiring a moving company a no brainer! Thanking Pete over at Household Money Saving, Emma over at The Money Whisperer and Heather of The Female Factor for enlightening not only myself, but other readers who may not have been aware of this added bonus to hiring a professional.

4. A Convenient Option For Those With Families of Small Children

Having a family myself with a 27 month old and another addition due any day now please god, we are in the process of looking to move into a bigger property hopefully before the end of of the year so can already foresee why hiring a moving company will make the whole transition much more easier and convenient, especially for those with small children to consider. Fellow parent bloggers Raimonda over at Cosmo Mum and Caitylis both shared my thoughts on this.

Caitylis is currently in the middle of packing for a house move in a few short weeks and is already getting concerned and a little worried with the sheer amount of huge boxes piling up in the garage. She went on to say “I think hiring a moving company will be SO beneficial because how can two people with a little baby do it all alone?!” whilst Raimonda simply says “When you have a family, kids, furniture and all other things to consider, hiring a moving company is a must!” I couldn’t agree more ladies.

5. They Know What They Are Doing

Now this last point is not to say those who choose to save money and move themselves don’t, it is more a case of there being more bodies involved making the process much quicker, something Katie over at Mummy’s Diary and I both agree on. As they complete house moves on a daily basis, are used to moving extremely heavy pieces of furniture and equipment safely and properly, thus reducing the risks of injury to you, family relations or friends helping out attempting to move a heavy fridge freezer for example up a flight of stairs to its location within the apartment.

Emma over at Emma Reed humorously said “They know how to move a piano safely and properly… unlike your inlaws! Laughing as she recalled the moment “Imagine three guys trying to put it on the third floor, my father in law was cursing me.”

It appears that the benefits of hiring a moving company far outweighs any negative ones such as cost with people willing to pay professionals to reduce the hassle on what appears to be a stressful, anxiety inducing event. One quick search on google will bring up many reputable and trusted moving companies to help you with that big house move including Movers Toronto.

I genuinely hope you have found this article useful by sharing 5 Reasons Why You SHOULD Hire A Moving Company.
