Normal skin is the final skin type that most of us set out to achieve and very few people have this skin type naturally. It’s balanced and generally doesn’t veer onto the oily or dry ends of the skin spectrum.

Dry skin, as you may expect, is relatively dry. This is because it produces lower levels of sebum than normal skin, which can give your skin a rough or dull texture.

On the other hand, you can have oily skin, which produces too much sebum and commonly results in visible pores and a greasy or “wet” appearance.

Combination skin is essentially a combination of these different skin types on different areas of your face. For example, you could have “normal skin” on cheeks and an oily T zone.

Once you know your skin type, you can begin to shop for washes, toners, moisturisers and other products that work for you.

Identify Skin Conditions

You may find that you suffer from specific skin conditions. There are countless different skin conditions out there and you may need a doctor or a dermatologist’s help to identify and diagnose exactly what they are.

They can range from issues such as acne to rosacea, psoriasis, eczema and more.
