An Introduction To Gymboree UK Play & Music and Becoming A Gymboree UK Play & Music Friend

For those that follow me on social media would be aware that I have been regularly taking my Son to baby groups and classes ever since he was 3 months old. I’ve yet to write a full article on this, including why I believe it has already helped him develop social skills but today I want to give you an introduction into one of my favourite classes for 0-5 year olds, Gymboree UK.

Whilst pregnant I did a ton of research into the different types of classes available for babies and toddlers and wanted my Son to attend classes with an educational purpose. I’m a huge believer of learning through play and after stumbling across their site I was completely sold on their various age appropriate classes that engages and supports the many different developmental stages between birth and age 5.

I decided to contact Gymboree UK direct and expressed my keen interest of getting my Son Eco involved in a few classes local to where I reside and much to my delight, we were very fortunate to become a Gymboree  UK Play & Music Friend. This means that Eco and I were given 1 month complimentary membership in exchange for an honest review.

We have already attended our trial class at the beginning of last month but with Eco contracting a viral infection and then having his first set of MMR vaccinations meant that we only completed our 1st week with Gymboree UK last week. Eco is currently enjoying two types of classes at Gymboree Play & Music, Play & Learn Level 3 and Music I.

Their fun and energetic activities are structured and curriculum-based, yet flexible enough to allow our little’s to explore and express themselves fully. From imaginary play to games and storytelling, Gymboree’s classes use play-based activities to stretch the body and mind.

Gymboree UK Music Classes Explained

The Gymboree Music program is said to help to enhance your child’s development and love of music through song, dance, movement games and instruments.  Their Music classes are high energy and full of life, allowing children to express themselves freely and to move about when the mood strikes

It is great to know that a new musical style is explored every three weeks – from African to Classical, Jazz and Disco, R&B to Asia, which not only gives our children an introduction to a variety of new sounds and rhythms from all over the world from past to present, it also gives them an understanding of cultural appreciation in this multicultural world we live in.

Our First Thoughts Regarding The Classes We’re Attending

Although it’s early doors as we’re only in our 2nd week of classes, I am already super proud of the confidence Eco currently displays during Gymboree’s Play & Learn Level 3 and Music I.

It’s the first type of class where he is happy to leave my side an go off exploring without looking back at me for reassurance. He isn’t afraid to walk about and do his own thing or go up to teachers Emily, Louisa and Lee. He is eager to partake in the activities put on during each class and it’s absolutely wonderful to see him having so much fun!

I’ll be sure to write a thorough review once we’ve completed a months worth of classes but in the mean time I’ve shared a few paragraphs on what exactly Gymboree is about should fellow parents or caregivers be interested to learn more…
