Just over a month or so ago, I was extremely fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to interview Mr Anthony C. George, the designer and creator of The Grenadian National Flag and Motto. This is a very special interview to me and I was shocked to learn it has taken a total of 33 years for Mr George to be formally recognised as the man behind the colourful and eye catching design of the Grenadian Flag!
Having read his recently published memoir entitled Beyond Belief, his story further intrigued me which left me keen as ever to find out more, including when his love for art first began, his inspirations as well as discussing his own collection of known artwork which are loved, cherished and found proudly displayed in many African American and Caribbean homes worldwide.
A special interview marks a special occasion, and what better way to make my YouTube debut than with a video interview of this very special man whose very design bears significant importance to those of Grenadian Heritage.
I caught up with Mr George a few weeks after he came back from Texas, where he was treated as an honourable guest to celebrate Grenada’s 40th year of Independence.
Enjoy watching 🙂
I hope you enjoyed the interview just as much as I did putting the questions together and if you too have been left inspired and somewhat intrigued to find out more about the man behind the National Flag and Motto of Grenada, Anthony C. George can be found on-line by visiting his website A C George.
To own a significant part of Caribbean history yourself, his recently published memoir entitled Beyond Belief can be purchased in either hardback or an e-book version here
