If you are anything like me that loves to snack on healthy, nutritious alternatives between your set meals you would definitely appreciate a pot of coconut goodness brought to you by Coyo. Originally made in Australia, Coyo is made from freshly squeezed coconut cream that is extracted from the white flesh of young coconuts (otherwise known as coconut milk). A mixture of plant based pro biotic cultures are then added to the coconut cream to give it a fresh and unique taste that Coyo brings.
Other than the health benefits you receive when consuming coconut based ingredients, this product is ticks all the right boxes as far as ‘natural food products’ goes. It contains:-
No Added Sugar (naturally sweetened with Xylitol)
Starts from 150 cals per 100g serving
AND *wait for it* is also…
This makes Coyo suitable for vegans, vegetarians, health concious individualsand those that are specifically looking for adairy freeyohurt alternative to those made with cows milkthat may want to consume something relatively low in calories without sacrificing on taste *a hard combination to get right*
My Thoughts on Coyo
I am totally impressed by this product, so much so that I cannot wait to purchase more so I can experiment with different fusions when creating future smoothie bowl recipes!
All four flavours sent simply went down a treat! Coyo has a rich, creamy, velvety texture that may be too much for some, but let me tell you, my pallet simply couldn’t get enough.
Their smallest sized pots (250g) are generously sized and is more than enough to consume in one sitting due to the fact it was surprisingly filling. Whilst I enjoyed these little pots of goodness on their own, they are incredibly versatile that they (especially the natural flavour) make an excellent ingredient to add to highly nutritious smoothies, exotic curries, granola /fruit parfaits and have been told it also serves as an excellent dressing alternative.
Here in the UK, Coyo is available in flavours such as Natural, Mango, Passionfruit, Mixed Berry, Pineapple, Mango andRaw Chocolate and is sold in either 250g, 400g, 700g or 1kg containers.
What’s more impressive is that Coyo also sell dairy free Coconut Ice cream using the cream of the young coconuts and is available in mouth-watering interesting flavours such as Sticky Date & Tamarind, Vanillaand Nutmeg, Natural and Chocolate (Cacao) via Whole Foods Market and other stocklists in the UK. It’s fair to say my absolute love for all things coconut just got even deeper now I know such products exists.
