Last week Friday, hundreds of finalists shortlisted for a blog award, their excited guests, blogger entrants as well as industry leaders and brands across the different sectors gathered at the delightful and charismatic Grange Hotel in St Paul’s, London for the first ever UK Blog Awards 2014 awards ceremony.

As you may already be aware, I put my blog forward for an award back in November 2013 strategically for a bit of exposure and NEVER EVER thought in my wildest dreams that my little blog and I would actually make the shortlist as a FINALST in my category for an individual ‘health’ award via a public vote *a sincere thank you to those that voted for me!*

Unfortunately I was not in attendance on the night as something came up but kept abreast of the evening when I could by using the Twitter hashtag #ukba14 I was up against some phenomenal bloggers / writers who all deserved to win and below are the finalist’s within my category.

I would like to take this opportunity to say HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Chris’ Cancer Community on WINNING the overall Individual ‘Health’ Category.

Helen’s Health-E-Helen and Angies’ Limping Chicken blog were also awarded the ‘Highly Commendable‘ within the Individual Health category.

I am sure you’ll agree the three people mentioned above are worthy winners!

Should you be interested in finding out who else was chosen as the overall winner and highly commended in within their categories, the full list can be viewed by clicking here.

Also a mention must go out to Gemma Pearson and Becki Cross for being the organisers behind the UK Blog Awards.

As for me… I am just really thankful to have been shortlisted in the first place and am beyond humbled for This Woman’s Word to be acknowledged as one of the Top Ten ‘Health’ Blogs within the United Kingdom.

What started off as a way to channel my passion on all things health, fitness and wellness is now rapidly evolving into a trusted resource to help people lead and maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.

I’m not sure where this writing journey will take me but can tell you I am beyond blessed to have worked with sooo many wonderful people and brands over the last 1.5 years. I would also like to thank you lovely lot that make it a habit to visit my blog to read my articles and fitness diaries.

Your words of encouragement and ongoing support and faith in my ability as a health and fitness writer is one of the reasons why I continue to put fingertips to a keyboard and produce articles.

Here’s to many many more years of writing please god.

Peace, love and light Beautiful People.

Happy Friday 🙂
