Celebrating 5 Year’s of Blogging With A Brand New Logo Courtesy of LogoJoy
|*This is a review collaboration with LogoJoy*. The past few months have been busy at This Woman’s Word HQ to say the least… so much so that my 5 year blogiversary of establishing this very site pasted me by in October just gone. Admittedly life took over and well, my blog along with my freelance writing and social media activity unfortunately took the hit. That said I seem to have found a rhythm again and so wanted to acknowledge my 5 years of writing by getting a well overdue blog refresh and new logo!
Creating a new logo and indeed a site update has been on my list of things to do for the absolute longest but, if I am completely honest, I would put the delay down to procrastination more than anything… mainly because I wouldn’t class myself as the creative type to design a new logo from scratch and so was put off by the thought of the process.
So when I was approached by Canadian brand LogoJoy to review their services I of course jumped at the chance and below are my honest thoughts from choosing a template to the finalising the finished product…
Generating a Logo
The very first step one would come across is to choose 5 or more logo’s you like the look of and LogoJoy would use these as inspiration to create a template to suit your needs. I knew exactly what I wanted (a speech bubble as the container that my logo would sit in) but after searching the website extensively and even talking to a member of the team via their online chat service there was unfortunately no option for this and so chose a few designs as close to my idea as possible.
Once you have selected the logos, one is then given the option to choose a colour scheme. Not wanting to stray from my identifiable burnt orange colour that runs throughout my blog and current logo I stuck with orange hues.
What I particularly LOVED about this part were the words each different hue signifies. The colour purple for example signifies luxury, power, independence and ambition whereas the orange hues I selected symbolises joy, creativity, enthusiasm and happiness to name a few. Getting the colour right is a crucial part of creating a logo so having this insight into what each colour signifies was truly fascinating to me.
The next option allows one to choose a symbol to add your logo. As I could not find a speech bubble as the container I settled on choosing a few I liked the look of to incorporate with my blog name and new slogan. This is the final step one needs to complete before different variations of your logo is generated as the above screen capture shows.
You are now free choose your favourites and alter the font, text size and colour to suit your requirements. Admittedly this section is where I spent the longest (days in fact!) as I found myself going back and forth between a few different variations before finally settling the final outcome with help from my significant other’s opinion.
Thoughts About Logo Service
Overall I found the service from LogoJoy very simple to use and their entire platform was easy to navigate around. I honestly think LogoJoy’s website encourages those with less creative flair like myself to design a logo they may have otherwise struggled to do from scratch. With that said I do wish they had more options to choose from in the container section or even had the option to upload your own if none within their database met your requirements but for $65.00 for a premium package one cannot complain at all (I’m just being a bit greedy!)
My New Blog Header
So here it is… my new blog header in it’s full glory. For me it perfectly sums up exactly what my blog is about without new readers and followers having to work out what my little space on the internet is all about.
Just like a new fitness outfit would inspire the wearer to be upbeat and approach their workouts with positive mindset the same can be said for a new logo! I now feel ready to take this little blog of mine to the next level and put my all into writing great content you beautiful readers will enjoy around juggling Motherhood. It is no easy feat to be a be stay at home working mother, look after the home, still have time for my significant other AND indeed myself as self care is SOOO important, but will continue in my quest to find that balance in order to make this work for my little family and I.
I hope you love my new banner as much as I do (new look will be update on the blog tomorrow please god) and if you’re also on the market for a new logo/ you can enjoy $20.00 off your purchase by using my unique code. A special thank you to Greg and Kristin who went above and beyond to ensure all queries I had were answered, it was truly a pleasure to work with you and the team!
