Press Play Pop Up Cinema Presents Cool Runnings On Ice At Queensway Ice and Bowl

After recently being described as the best out-of-cinema pop up by Timeout Magazine, Press Play bring you their biggest event to date! Living up to their motto of “We Press Play Anywhere”, their next event is taking place on an ice rink. Yes you read correctly ladies and gents, an ice rink! For three nights only towards the end of November (26-28th to be precise) Press Play will be taking you back to 1988 to live the life of the Jamaican Bobsleigh Team famously known as ‘Cool Runnings’.

For this event, it is advised to come prepared for the cold, dressed in ‘Retro Caribbean Ski Wear’ with the focus on a hint of old skool in Jamaican themed setting. Once inside, you will be greeted from what the press release describes by host of fun-lovin’ staff upon arrival and taken to “Jamaica” where a selection of rum cocktails will be on offer at ‘The Duppy Bar’, along with staples such as Red Stripe, Ting and Old Jamaican Ginger Beer.

You will then have the opportunity to shake a leg to the reggae vibes whilst enjoying flavorful from the ‘Dubjam Shack’ and even practice your sled technique in the bath. There are also a host of other activities on the night.

You will then travel back in time to 1988 for ‘The Winter Olympics. Ensure you pick up your complementary warm rum punch, a blanket and some hand warmers from the ‘Bodos Hut’ before making your way to your seat in one of our six “giant bobsleighs”!

If that wasn’t tempting enough, a bag of sweet coconut and vanilla Propercorn and a carton of Vita Coco awaits you with waitresses being on call to order food and drink to your seat throughout the film.
