I must admit, this post has been a long time coming but as we’re in the 2nd week of Fair-trade Fortnight it seems fitting to share with you beautiful people my Top Ten Gift Ideas For Babies and Toddlers – Organic / Fair-trade Clothing Edition.
When pregnant with Baby Eco, I made a conscious effort to buy organic and fair-trade clothing wherever possible. Of course this option comes with a higher price tag than high street clothing items, and is not something I can afford to buy all of time but it does put my mind at ease that half of wardrobe is GOTS certified organic.
The brands mentioned in this gift guide are either items purchased myself, pr samples kindly sent (marked with a **) or items on my wishlist for Eco, family relations and friends.
So without further ado and in no particular order, below is my Top Ten organic clothing MUST HAVES for the little people in your life!
Back in November 16, I came across German Brand Sense Organics and fell completely in love with the quality and softness of the clothes after being sent a complimentary outfit and did not hesitate to purchase several items (these reversible pants being one of them) to see him through winter and early spring where temperatures are still quite cold.
What’s not to LOVE about cute Newborn clothing, especially when they’re as cute and soft as this Newborn Starter Set from Baby Mori. Renowned as one of the leading Organic Brands in the UK, you’ll find yourself wanting to add a starter set to your ever-growing wishlist!
Technically, American baby brand Rockin’ Baby is neither fair-trade or organic BUT the reason for their inclusion in this gift guide is the AMAZING WORK they do in supporting a mother or child in need around the world. Working in partnership with ChildFund, the company donate a sling or item of clothing for every item purchased. Even more reason to check out the range on offer!
Little Green Sheep, famous for their luxurious organic mattresses have recently launched a wonderful clothing and sleep range including sleeping bags, sleepsuits, crib/cot bedding and blankets. The Wild Cotton collection has a woodland theme (bears and rabbits) with in season colours grey and mint melange to compliment any babies nursery.
For expectant mothers and those with small children or caregivers, if you intend on babywearing from birth to toddlerhood then the Close Caboo Organic comes highly recommended!
I have been wearing my Son in his since he was approx 3 months old and can honestly vouch for phenomenal job it does keeping them close.
Made with organic cotton, this 3 way Stretchy Wrap will be sure to create lasting memories between baby and their caregiver.
I came across British brand Pigeon Organics in my search for Organic Baby Clothes in January and after browsing their website I adored their vast range of collections. From Woodland themes to Seaside and Spring, there is literally something for every style and taste!
Frugi (ones says in an excited high pitched voice) This British, Organic and Fair-trade brand (did I mention they are British made too?) is one of my all time favourites and their ever colourful seasonal collections never ceases to disappoint! With adorable cartoon applique tops, strikingly gorgeous dresses to one of the BEST prints you will ever see on baby clothing you’ll find yourself wanting the entire range whilst wondering to yourself how you didn’t come across this brand sooner!
I personally LOVE discovering and supporting small businesses equally, if not more than major brands and one I would like to introduce to you (if you haven’t heard from them already) is Bowties and Candyfloss.
I stumbled across this one woman band at The Baby Show Olympia back in October 2015 when Alex O‘Garro-Dominique just launched her Oh So Monochrome collection. Fast forward to early 2017 and Oh So Monochrome 2 was created due to public demand.
For those with a love of monochrome, these wonderful unisex pieces will ensure your little bundle stays on trend whilst looking oh so stylish. Take my word and check out the organic collection yourself.
Shopping Organic doesn’t always mean you’ll end up having to break the bank as I personally discovered with High Street retailer H&M . Aside from their usual offerings I was pleasantly surprised to see they also have a Conscious range made with Organic Cotton.
With prices from as little as £4.00 items such as bodysuits, t-shirts, pants and hats make for great hospital bag purchases and wardrobe fillers.
To conclude my Top 10 list is yet another British brand in the form of Piccalilly! Cute prints is what originally caught my eye when internet window shopping for baby Eco and cannot get enough of these super cute leggings! With spring fast upon us I’m sure you’ll agree these will make an awesome gift for any baby or toddler!
