MyPure: Eco Tools Review – Fresh and Flawless Five Piece Complexion Set Made With Cruelty Free Bristles

For the second MyPure Beauty Review for the month of June, I chose to try and test out EcoTools Fresh and Flawless Five Piece Complexion Set, which I must point out are made with cruelty-free bristles complete with a stunning artist design recycled aluminium ferrules and sleek engraved bamboo handles.

In all honesty, I have never owned a full set of make-up brushes as I don’t wear make-up often, but when a special occasion or being in front of a camera lens calls to wear a touch, I  generally find myself using my finger-tips or a small  absorbent facial sponge to apply my foundation and concealer.

The gorgeously stunning artistic design on each brush is what initially made me gravitate towards choosing this set. Faaar too pretty not to have in one’s make-up bag with the addition of allegedly ‘soft’ cruelty free brushes, I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this set!

Packaging

The decently sized glossy case opens out like a book (see main picture) to reveal the aesthetically pleasing five piece bamboo cosmetic brushes. This convenient glossy case is made with EVA material. The left hand side of the case provides a breakdown of each brush and its uses whilst the right hand side of the case is used to store the brushes. I can’t begin to tell you just how convenient this layout is for me and am unable to find faults with the packaging even if I tried! Score 10/10

As there are five brushes within this set I thought I would be a good idea to look at each one in a little more detail, starting with the Flat Concealer Brush.

Flat Concealer Brush

This brush is designed to be used with liquid concealer to cover blemishes and even out ones skin-tone in problem areas. Luckily for me both my foundation and concealer are in liquid form (I prefer the finish to mineral powdered make-up) so was able to put this brush to the test.

I found this brush 10 x’s better at covering the corners of my eye’s when applying concealer than my previous messy way of using my fingertips. I found it is also fab to use in the corners of your nose as bigger brushes might glide over this area which could result in missed areas of application. Score 10/10

Buffing Concealer Brush

Whilst the majority of my face is blessed with even pigmentation, unfortunately I am one of the unlucky ones to suffer from dark circles under my eyes so concealer is paramount when applying make-up to my face. This particular brush really does provide one sweep coverage as stated to my under eyes and effortlessly covered my once visible dark circles. By using the large head of this brush, I saved waaay over four minutes when previously applying concealer with my finger-tips. I honestly can’t see me going back to my old make-up applying routine. Score 10/10

Precision Foundation Brush

I LOVE the pointed tip of this brush, it is perfect when applying my liquid foundation on top of my concealer around the eye area to give this section of my face a brighter vibrant look! It does a great job of covering my entire face and chin area and was surprised to see a streak free flawless completion once I had finished applying my liquid foundation. Score 10/10

Completion Blending Brush

This is the only brush I have yet to use as of yet for the other brushes did a perfect job of applying my cosmetics. This brush is however, supposedly helps achieve a smooth airbrushed finish by simply buffing around ones face with the full head in a circular motion using your chosen liquid or powder foundation. As I have to use this brush I cannot give it a score on performance.

Full Powder Brush

I have naturally rosy cheeks that still is evident even after applying foundation to my face so have never felt the need to purchase a blusher of any kind. I do however, like to use a little bronzer from time to time to finish of my face and found the full powder brush the perfect accessory to apply this. Score 10/10

Price
EcoTools Fresh and Flawless Five Piece Completion Set was originally priced at £11.99 at the time of ordering but has since dropped down to just £10.79 after a 10% discount which I must point out ENDS midnight tonight!

Taking into consideration that some cosmetic brands sell a single brush for over £20.00, this five piece set is an absolute bargain, even without the 10% discount applied. Score 10/10

Verdict
EcoTools Fresh and Flawless Five Piece Completion Set is hands down one of my favourite green beauty discoveries this year! I cannot fault the packaging, the brushes, the design or the price and now that I’m a proud owner of this set, I honestly can’t see me doing my make-up routine without it.

Below is a picture I took after applying my liquid foundation and concealer using the EcoTools brushes mentioned within this article (ignore the glare from the sun rays).

I don’t think a green beauty product has got a perfect score of 10/10 from me this year so this is a This Woman’s Word First! I also LOVE that each brush is engraved not only with the brands name at the front, it also has the brushes name engraved at the back of the brush as well. This will come in handy for someone like me who can be forgetful at times and probably pick up the wrong brush!

It is also fair to say I will NOT be going back to my old ways of applying make-up. No more messy fingertips or going through endless facial sponges. Whilst I have desperately tried to capture the sheer beauty of these brushes, the photo’s taken on my camera does not do these beautiful brushes justice when seeing them with the naked eye in real life.

This should be a part of every women’s make-up bag and would urge you to make use of the 10% discount MyPure has on their site and grab an extra bargin to treat  yourself or as a gift for the beauty enthusiast in your life.
