MyPure: Lovera Review – Top 5 Ways To Use 100% Pure Argan Oil For Simple Hair Treatments

I never follow trends, or have  jump on the next hyped product just because everyone is talking about / raving about it for I am my own person and have to have a genuine interest if something is to get my attention. That said, there was something about 100% Pure Argan Oil that filled me with curiosity every time I heard or read a recommendation of it. So, even though I must be at least a year behind the rest of the world, I have finally succumb to seeing for myself why health and beauty enthusiasts, industry leaders and beauty brands are going bananas over 100% Pure Argan Oil…

What is Argan Oil?

Real, authentic argan oil is sourced directly from south-western Morocco. Argan oil is a plant based oil that is produced from the kernels of the Argan Tree. The fruits of the argan tree are nut-sizes and may be round, oval or conical in shape. The fruits are covered by a thick peel which covers the fleshy pulp.

How Argan Oil Is Made

Kernels used to make argan oil for cosmetic use are ground and pressed. The brown-colored mash expels pure, unfiltered argan oil. Once this process has been followed, unfiltered argan oil is decanted into vessels.

Argan oil for culinary use is made almost identical to the above method, with the only difference of the kernels being gently roasted after being ground and pressed. Argan oil has been used for many centuries by local tribes in North Africa but has only recently has it come to the attention of cosmetic scientists for its known beauty benefits.

Argan Oil Benefits

Research suggests that the oil is packed with beautifying ingredients such as

  • vitamin E
  • phenols
  • carotenes and essential fatty acids.

Neek Alert: Argan Oil over 70% oleic & linoleum acids. These essential fatty acids are also known as the skin vitamin – Vitamin F. Like other vitamins our body is unable to produce its own Vitamin F, and this is where Argan Oil comes into the picture.

Top 5 Ways To Use 100% Pure Argan Oil For Simple Hair Treatments

There is a wealth of information on the internet regarding the many different ways Argan Oil can be used as part of our day to day beauty, skincare and hair-care regime and having experimented with the clear liquid gold for just over two weeks, below are my top 5 ways  to use Lovea 100% Pure Argan Oil for DIY Hair treatments.

Treat Split Ends:

I firstly took to applying the oil directly onto my dry ends, all in the hope it will restore the soft silky feeling my ends once had. I must make mention that my split ends are in pretty bad condition and if I’m honest feels pretty much like hay! In the short time I have been in possession of this product, the ends of my tresses are slowly being brought back to life and am beginning to see a healthier shine to them.

DIY Hair Mask:

There is no better feeling of whipping up a home made DIY deep conditioning hair mask and must say I’m pretty chuffed with the results. Simply mix together 1 large egg, 2 tablespoons of argan oil, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and one tablespoon of raw manuka honey before applying to dry unwashed hair for a total of 15 mins before rinsing washing out with your usual shampoo and conditioner of choice quenched my thirsty hair and looked surprisingly healthy afterwards.

Treat Dry Scalp:

I’m pretty sure we all suffer or have suffered from dry scalp from time to time (well I do anyway) and found by simply applying a couple drops of argan oil directly onto cotton wall ball (I opt to use organic) and gently dabbing your scalp with oil, it will do a fantastic job of moisturising your scalp without your hair looking like a big greasy mop.

Controlling Frizz:

I found out that argan oil is a great to control frizz and flyaway hair! By simply applying a couple of pumps to my tresses whilst my hair was still damp after washing it added must needed moisture to my usual straw like mane as well as adding a nice little shine to it.

Hot Oil Treatment:

This is by far my favourite discovery! In a double boiler, I simply heat 4 tablespoons of coconut oil and 2 tablespoons of olive oil and once it is slightly warm I remove the oil concoction from the boiler and add just 1 tablespoon of argan oil.

I transfer into a bowel and begin to apply the warm mixture all over my scalp before generously coating the remains all over my hair, paying special attention to the ends of my tresses. I then plait my hair in two pigtails, cover my head with a see through plastic bag and let the gold liquid work its magic with the coconut and olive oil for 1.5 – 2 hours before rinsing off with tepid water. Note: For best results ensure you use a fresh batch each time as stored oil does not have the same effect.

My Thoughts

Lovea 100% Pure Argan Oil i50 ml is currently priced at £14.99 when brought from MyPure direct and whilst initially thinking this is expensive, I feel you are getting your money’s worth as a little goes along way. I am at the very beginning of my argan oil journey and part of my wishes I had embarked on trying this natural gem years ago but, as they say, the past is the past and we must focus our attention on the present and future!

I am very much looking forward to experimenting with argan oil in relation to DIY Beauty, Hair-care and Body treatments and will share with you my tried, tested and recommended beauty recipes over the coming weeks, months and years please god!
