My Pure: Inika Rose Bud Vegan Lipstick Review – A Natural Certified Vegan Cosmetics Brand Free From Toxins

Last month, I was given a fantastic opportunity to join MyPure’s beauty reviewer’s programme, and to say I am honoured to be part of their amazing team is an understatement! For those not familiar with MyPure and their services, I shall briefly enlighten you on their background before I share my thoughts on my first chosen product.

My Pure Background

Founded in 2004 by Simon Golding, MyPure was one of the UK’s first online destinations to buy purely natural and organic beauty products – hand-picked to represent the crop of the world’s best and most effective beauty brands, from cult buys to everyday essentials for all the family.

They source natural, organic and cruelty free products worldwide and sell an array of everyday essentials from Natural Body-care / Skincare products, Natural Hair-care and Cosmetics, Perfume and Baby-care products and even the odd Household items!

When I made the conscious decision to ditch and throw away my beloved MAC products, it dawned on me that didn’t have natural cosmetics to replace them with so have been actively looking for the past few months.

Whilst browsing the Natural Make-up section of the MyPure site, Inika Vegan Lipstick and Lip Whip stood out by far.

I eventually settled on the rose bud shade, for I like pinky coral type shades and must admit I was really impressed with the packaging when it arrived!

The lipstick came in a lovely black and gold themed box and was even more impressed with the smooth matt black lipstick case showcasing Inika’s distinctive gold logo at the centre on both sides of the case.

Upon opening to reveal the lipstick I noticed the swatch and shape of the lipstick on the site was a little different to the actual shade and shape of lipstick sent but this wasn’t a problem as I fell in love with the shade once applied to my lips.

Due to my darker, tanned skin-tone, I found I needed to apply at least three times for the colour to show but again didn’t find this a problem or a nuisance. As you can see from the picture below this shade looks very natural.

The lipstick was extremely nourishing to my lips which is down to the formula containing natural shea butter and jojoba oil so there  is no need to apply a balm on your lips prior to application.

I wore this to a family communion last Saturday and it lasted approx 7 hours before I needed to reapply having eaten loads and drank with it on.

Ingredients Used

Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, jojoba esters, caprylic/capric triglyceride, euhorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, c18-38 alkylhydroxystearyl stearate, theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, limonene, tocopherol, citrus sinensis ( orange ) oil, mica, titanium dioxide ci 77891, iron oxides ci 77491, ci 77499, red 6 lake ci 15850

Priced at £17.00, I would agree it is above the price range of regular high street brands but wouldn’t hesitate to purchase for myself or as a gift due to its quality and am looking forward to exploring more of Inika’s cosmetics in the very near future!
