New British Female Sports Attire Lexie Sport – The ‘Icon Collection’ 2013

American sportswear brands usually dominate the scene as our chosen preference when purchasing fitness attire, but very recently, I have seen a number of British Female Sportswear brands burst into this market offering an array of amazing ‘luxe’ pieces any fashionable, sporting woman would want to own as part of her Kit Essentials. Yes you guessed it, Lexie Sport is one of them!

Founded and designed by Central Saint Martin’s fashion graduate Lily Rice, the Lexie brand is designed for women who are just as serious about fashion as they are about their performance and who are also at the top of their game, both in life and in sport.

I paid a visit to their popup store located at 387 Kings, Road, London earlier this afternoon where I got view and try on their collection in person as well as catch up with Lily after not being able to attend their Tuesday’s Lexie Session and boy, their pieces did not disappoint one bit! *absolutely gorgeous*

Their debt ‘Icon Collection’ , sees just four pieces available to purchase at present and surprisingly steps away from the conventional sportswear colours in favour of clean palette’s of blacks, greys and marls that are embellished with reflective highlights. Mesh panelling along with functional fabrics have also been carefully selected throughout the collection to ensure the savy lady wearing these luxe sports pieces is kept cool throughout her workout without ever having to compromise on style!

Upon viewing the collection I instantly fell in love with the Clara Tee and adored it even more when I got to try it on. The size S I opted for fitted perfectly. The short sleeved t-shirt has a flattering fit and noticed it was slightly longer in length than most sport tee’s on the market.

Sheer mesh is used just above the chest area giving that edgy yet classy look. The tee is only available in Dark Marl with Black Panelling in sizes S through to L priced at a very reasonable £35.00

The Veronica Shorts *or shall I say short shorts aka booty shorts* grabbed my attention in more ways than one lol. It’s seriously eye catching steel glitter panels will ensure you stand out from the crowd and have heads turning *even if that wasn’t your intention*.

I will openly admit I was a little hesitant to try these on at first as I have never worn anything showing THAT MUCH flesh in public besides a swimming pool or beach lol but with the design looking as cute as these did in person I decided to bite the bullet and glad I did as they were super comfy and unrestricted.

These shorts are limited edition so if you want to be a proud owner of a pair you have to act fast ladies! This piece is only available in Black and Steel, in sizes S, M, L and is priced at £30.00.

The final piece I had the pleasure of trying on was the ever popular Gloria Hoody as beautifully modelled by Lexie Model Lianna. As soon as I put this item on I didn’t want to take it off haha. It has a snug fit and is the perfect piece for pre and post training. Deep pockets are a for must me and loved the super soft stretchy fabric and reflective detail used to create this hoody*perfect for the upcoming autumn / winter months*.

It’s no surprise to learn that the Gloria Hoody has over taken the Veronica Shorts in the popularity contest. I would go beyond wearing this as a workout staple and pair it with jeans for a dressed down, casual look or just to lounge around in during those well earned rest days. The Gloria Hoody is only available in Black and Dark Grey in sizes S, M, L and is priced at £65.00.

The fourth item available to purchase are the Grace Leggings that are slim fitting and is designed with vertical mesh panelling. How cool are these please? *WANT*

The Grace Leggings are available only available in Black, in sizes S, M & L and is priced at £35.00.

The ‘Icon Collection’ is still available to view at 387 Kings Road, London until Wednesday 4th September 2013 and if you are unable to get down to the store by then please don’t stress… you can purchase your desired pieces online exclusively from the Young British Designer’s Website. I know for certain I will be making a purchase on two, maybe three items displayed within this article.
