Fitness and Green Beauty Wish List – May 14 Edition

With my earthday just two more sleeps away *I will be turning 29 years young please god* there are some things I have had on my wish list of things to invest in / try out so with that said, I am considering the possibility of using my born day as well as the success of obtaining my first degree black belt in Kickboxing just over a month ago as rare opportunity to treat myself for once. Undecided on what items to choose, I thought I would share them with you lovely lot.

1. Lexie Sport – Anita / Lake Leggings

First up on the list is the wonderful range of sports luxe apparel from Lexie Sport.

I have been a huge fan and supporter of Lily Rice’s creations ever since she launched her first collection entitled the ‘Icon Collection’ back in August 2013 and have watched with pride and happiness  at witnessing her British brand grow and compete with major fitness brands in the world of luxe sportswear.

Having taken the time out to visit Lily last month at her pop up store in Shoreditch, Box Park to view her new and innovative second collection entitled ‘Blonde’, I am completely torn between the gorgeous Anita Leggings and Lake Leggings. I loved the feel and fit of them both and making the decision of which one to go for will be a hard one for sure *help*

2. Bodhi and Birch – Lime Blossom Hand Protecting Serum

Up next is brought to you by newly rebranded Bodhi and Birch, previously known as Bodhi Skincare.

These gorgeous natural aromatherapy and skincare products are the ultimate treat for those who LOVE to take some time out of their busy and demanding lives to unwind and truly indulge in some much deserved mind and body TLC.

I previously had the privilege of trying their Neroli Luce Face Oil and Cacao Cocoon Lip Treatment Balm as part of a review I did for the Green Beauty section of this site few months back and was blown away by Elijah’s first class customer service skills and luxe products on offer.

To be fair, the entire Bodhi and Birch product range is on my wish list of things to slowly work my way through but for now I am eager as a beaver to try out their newest product launched under their new name… Lime Blossom Hand Protecting Serum pictured above and as well as their Jasmine Falls Bath and Shower Therapy.

3. Patrick Ewing Trainers

If I’m totally honest Patrick Ewing’s trainers completely stole my heart ever since they re-launched them last year *could have been late 2012* having been popular in the 80’s and early 90’s.

With sooo many different colour-ways available I will be spoilt for choice but best believe these lil beauts will be making a regular appearance on my feet sooner rather than later!

4. Polar F4 / F7

These snazzy fitness accessories brought to you by Polar which doubles up as a reliable heart rate monitor amongst other things have been on my wish list for the absolute longest and am not sure how much longer I can go without being in receipt of one!

With plans to run my own kickboxing classes in the near future together with taking on challenges such as the 10k London River Race and the Women’s MacMillan Cycletta Sportive, I need to be training both hard and smart, all whilst analysing each workout and feel that either of these two devices will aid me in getting the very best out of my workouts.

5. Lacquer Lab – Spring  Breakers Collection

The recent sunny spell we have been fortunate to get here in London England has put me in the mood to source bright coloured clothes and accessories. There’s no denying I LOVE a splash of colour and this Spring Breakers collection by Lacquer Lab *which happens to 5 toxins free, ethical and cruelty free* immediately caught my eye and look forward to adding these natural nail polishes to my ever growing Green Beauty Collection.

6. Bare Minerals – Bare Skin Serum Foundation

Last week, whilst casually scrolling through my Twitter timeline *as you do* I noticed that Bare Minerals had a Beauty Press Day where they unveiled a product I am dying to get my hands on… Bare Skin Serum Foundation.

Now this is music my ears and for fellow natural and green cosmetics advocates who are also on the hunt for a liquid type foundation that not only provides adequate coverage, but is also made with natural, organic and free from ingredients.

What impressed me the most about the Bare Skin line is their extensive range of shades available, which appears to cater to all skin tones. Though personal experience, I have found that most brands do not have a wide enough collection for women of colour *shades are often too light or too dark* so is refreshing to see Bare Minerals take the lead, especially in the natural cosmetics industry by ensuring an extensive range of shades are available.

Bare Minerals twitter feed tells me this particular product will not be available until September 2014 *cries* but am on a mission to somehow get my hands on a perfectly matched bottle as soon as I can for I have high hopes that it will deliver the same flawless coverage as my once beloved, toxic and now binned MAC foundation.

Stay tuned to find out what products I treated myself to for my Birthday this coming Thursday and also keep your eyes peeled for next months edition of fitness, lifestyle and green beauty, skincare, hair-care and cosmetics handpicked by yours truly 🙂
